System Requirements

Insufficient hardware or a slow connection may interfere with the execution or quote performance. Please compare your computer's processor, memory (RAM) and operating system as well as the speed of your Internet connectivity to the suggested specifications listed below.

Connectivity
The eSignal Pro application requires an Internet connection to communicate with the eSignal servers. The communications between the client and server use both the "query-response" type and active / streaming technology (TCP).

TCP / IP connection to the Internet should include one of the following:
  • Connection to a local Internet Service Provider via DSL or cable
  • LAN connections with properly configured firewall / proxy server
Note: The Firewall / Proxy Server connection configuration may require tunneling (up to 6 ports) or implementation of SOCKS proxy server (if it is SOCKS v4, v4.3A or v5 compliant).

Firewalls
Internet security issues mandate the use of firewalls. eSignal Pro requires the use of ports specifically configured for Internet access through firewalls, as well as proxy servers. Our development staff has performed extensive on-site testing of eSignal Pro and firewalls. eSignal Pro can be integrated into your network environment without compromising security in any way.

eSignal Pro is a Winsock-compliant application that requires an Internet connection to communicate with the eSignal Pro server(s). Communications between the client and server use both "query-response" and "active/streaming" technology.

Depending on the subscribed services, up to 5 outgoing ports may have to be configured on the Firewall / Proxy Server(s). One or more of the following ports may be used:

  • Port 2189 - eSignal Pro Connection Manager and Financial Quotes Server (required)
  • Port 2190 - eSignal Pro News Server (required for news access)
  • Port 2192 - eSignal Pro Intraday History Server (required for intraday data)
  • Port 2193 - International Tick Server (required for international intraday history data)
  • Port 2194 - eSignal Pro Daily History Server (required for historical data)
  • Port 2196 - eSignal Pro NASDAQ Level II Server (required for Level II access)
